Welcome to BluStreak Tracer

Rivergate Software has announced the forthcoming product BluStreak Tracer - A Blu-ray player, tracer, debugger, and command editor for Blu-ray content.

This new forum is envisioned as a place to discuss features and how to use Tracer in combination with Adobe Encore to create compelling Blu-ray discs. We expect to release preliminary alpha and beta versions of this new software in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we would like to encourage questions and suggestions on this forum.

Upgrade for BluStreak

I've been using DVDAfterEdit since the days it was called TFDVDEdit and have recently started authoring the first Blu-rays using Sonic Scenarist BD. While Scenarist is good to do the authoring, it has a very bad debugging tool bundled (Scenarist QC) that makes navigation checks of complex discs a pain. Since I'm working for a replication plant we do have customers that have their own authoring studios that use software like Encore and are therefore unable to deliver a BDCMF for replication. To make long things short: When we buy BluStreak now will there be an upgrade option to BluStreak + Tracer like in the TFDVDEdit days?

Christoph

Upgrades and Policies

Hi Christoph,

We are planning to have various levels of the software like before, probably at the high end a combination application that does everything, and a reasonable upgrade path from the lesser products. Also, we expect to charge for upgrades as the format and capabilities evolve, unlike DVDAfterEdit which languished because it was based on a defunct development system. (CodeWarrior).

We would like to charge replication facilities a per-use fee on replications made from end-user BDMV folders, since they tend to cannibalize our sales. Or perhaps a required support contract, at a reasonable price. What do you think?

Larry

BluStreak Tracer

Hi guys

Is there a ballpark figure for this software? Sound like a great addition to my tools. I was about to purchase Arcsoft Total Theater, but fortunately I didn't!
And 2 days later comes this new...great!
Please keep us posted.

BluStreak Tracer is not a

BluStreak Tracer is not a replacement for ArcSoft Total Theater, which plays commercial Blu-ray discs with AACS encryption and runs on Windows.

We have not set a price yet, but are considering two versions, one with burning and BDMV folder building only, and one that adds what is now BluStreak Premaster.

When I want to ask will be available in the software, Tracer. I look forward to facilitate the work
